If you use Blogger.com and you're tired of writing out the HTML code for Technorati tags, check this out -- an easy way to add tags to your blog posts. This Greasemonkey extension is reason alone to convert to Firefox as your web browser!
Thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear that the Greasemonkey method was frustrating. I have what I hope is a clearer how-to post at Freshblog. I have modified the script to generate tags that are valid in both del.icio.us and technorati, allowing you to use del.icio.us as a substitute category manager for blogger in addition to having posts listed on Technorati. It's working out pretty well for me.
As you say, the rel="tag" is the trick, & technorati will see your posts even if they link to del.icio.us. It's not 100%, as you see by this post as the tags drop out & this post as they come back, but it seems to work most of the time!! Thanks for the link, good luck trying it out, & let me know if I can help!!
Church Search Engine Optimization, an article by SEO
consultant Edward Tsai, explains how to make church websites
more visible to search engines.
Web designer Dean Peters examines and critiques church
websites at his blog,
Heal Your Church Website, giving specific examples of what
should be done to improve websites. Peters also comments on methods
used to reach out to people via the web.
Picking the right keywords to use on your web page is key to
ranking highly in search engine results. Many of us, however,
are happy to use our church name as the sole keyword. But how
will somebody looking for your church even know what
your church name is?
SEO consultant Theresa Leonard-Wilkinson
explains the importance of the right keyword in this article.
Web developer Mike Atkinson wrote the series
"Improving Your Church Website. In
Search and Ye Shall (not) Find, Atkinson explains some of the
most important aspects of web page optimization. In
Part Deux, he recounts the "Nigritude Ultramarine" Googlebombing
contest in 2004. That information is a bit outdated as Google and other
search engines now work to detect Googlebombing, comment spam, and
other black-hat tricks. His comments about requesting links from
related websites are right on target, however.
